We were ment to be ...!!!!!!!

She and I were a perfect match,
but in reality something was missing

That mysterious, indefinable spark

just wasn't there.

To stabilise our feelings
for each other,

we would often project
a future for ourselves,

imagining we were a married couple
with stacks of children.

Or find places we would wanna go
and plan them in our heads

We tried to make ourselves believe
in a future together.

A future that deep down I
knew would happen.

And so in a pattern that I've
now seen repeated the previous time over,

another ride representing
another failed relationship

comes to an end.
God, what a loser.

Calm Down

Now calm down my sickening son
and marry your ghost if you want
with secret desires of us
I want you to be left alone
until you find yourself,
seek in the unknown
Now clam down you're seeking the sun
you've travelled a long way from home
with secrets left inside of songs
I want you to find your way home
I have found many
places for hiding
Now calm down and sing us a song
and build it as long as you want
in secret empowered by god
I want you to sing us a song
about finding out
if I'm only one.

My Mind Called 'Naked'

The ruins burn into the night,
bright as any star,
smoke seeps into the sky,
dark and billowy like a scar.

The people are screaming,
tongues of fire licking near,
their eyes reflect the flaming rages,
washed with a crazy fear.

Outsiders shake their heads,
as if pity is too kind.
The town is so transparent,
that depth isn't hard to find.

My mind called Naked wastes away,
the fires consuming life.
The smoke still seeps reliably,
cutting the day like a knife.

I am One of Them

A squirrel, two sparrows.
A crippled dog.
Hit. Grasp, save, grasp, hit, miss.
Miss. Miss again.
And I see your eyes.
Fur, feathers. Blood. And that noise.
Tree, fence, sunshine. Miss. Save.
Hit. Hit again. And that noise.
Sparrow.
I’d pick you up from the grass.

But there’s nowhere to take you...
I am one of them.
Love of mine, don’t worry.
Hit, miss, save.
Skin, bruises, blood.
And I see your eyes too, Love.
I say don’t worry, but what am I going to do?
I’d pick you up, but where would I take you?
I am one of them.

Tears and Rain

I wish I could surrender my soul;
Shed the clothes that become my skin;
See the liar that burns within my needing.
How I wish I'd chosen darkness from cold.
How I wish I had screamed out loud,
Instead I've found no meaning.

I wish I could walk through the doors of my mind;
Hold memory close at hand,
Help me understand the years.
How I wish I could choose between Heaven and Hell.
How I wish I would save my soul.
I'm so cold from fear.

I guess it's time I run far, far away; find comfort in pain,
All pleasure's the same: it just keeps me from trouble.
Hides my true shape, like Dorian Gray.
I've heard what they say, but I'm not here for trouble.

Tears and Rain.

Far, far away; find comfort in pain,
All pleasure's the same: it just keeps me from trouble.
It's more than just words: it's just tears and rain.
